Petal pushers

I don’t know of any sight more welcome to my sore eyes than the camellia. I adore this flowering shrub, in all of its color manifestations.

What surprises me is that there aren’t that many camellias planted around Florence. If I had a real garden here, I would fill it with camellias!

There are some in the Bardini gardens, but that garden, like the Boboli, is closed during the Covid restrictions. So, when I see a blooming camellia shrub, I make a bee line.

I didn’t have the best luck taking these few pictures yesterday. It was a breezy morning and the shrub’s branches were dancing in the moving air. The light wasn’t always on my side either. But, but I did my best and here they are.
