Firenze, quel cielo sempre più blu

Egyptian obelisk in Boboli Gardens. Supported by turtles.

Boboli Garden tour, ieri.
Cosimo I was a Capricorn. And he liked to use the imagery of the sign’s symbol, the goat, in his grand architectural compositions. In the Boboli Gardens, his goat symbols serve as the decorative animals on gateways to the island within the gardens. Very amusing and attractive.

Pontormo in Florence
The Pontormo at Santa Felicita is supposed to be revealed this fall, after its current cleaning. I stopped by yesterday to check on it, and this is what I saw!

Soon all will be revealed! Cannot wait!
Florence’s prettiest church, secondo me.

Santa Maria Novella by Alberti. My favorite, ever.
Mario Luca Giusti, synthetic crystal, Florence

Hard to believe these objets are not made from the finest crystal!
Florentine gardeners are everywhere.

Bella Roma!
