Monks and nuns dance in Italy

Edgar Degas at the Opera, exhibition at Musee d’Orsay, Paris
There was a wonderful exhibition on Edgar Degas at the Musee d’Orsay when I was there recently. Here are some of the works that caught my eye:
I had a copy of the print below hanging in my childhood bedroom. I know and love this beautiful work as well as I know my own hands.
Below, I wonder…little dreamers? And, if so, dreaming of being a ballerina or a painter?

Russians in Florence
My friend and I were rendezvousing at the Piazza San Marco recently and noticed that there was music pouring out of the door leading to a small cortile to the left of the church. We followed the sound and happened upon a troupe of Russian singers and dancers who were performing in the beautiful autumn afternoon under the 500 year old roof of the cortile.
Amazing.
Florence is endlessly fascinating.
Trapeze school in London’s Regent’s Park
When I grow up, I want to attend trapeze school in London. I saw this on my recent visit and I want to try it!
Repetto ballet, Paris
I love to visit this beautiful shop in Paris! I may not wear tutus anymore, but I still love them! And toe shoes, and tights. Tutus and toe shoes and leotards, oh my!
The Fantastic Sisters (Japanese dance troupe)
Have you seen this? I am late to this party. World of Dance is a fun show on American tv and this group knocked me out!
