Takashimaya department store, Tokyo

At my request, Rudy returned to Ginza this past weekend and spent an afternoon exploring the 3 buildings of the famous Takashimaya department store. Oh, how I wish I could have been with him!

Above and below is a model of the original store, created in Legos!

The artist who created the Lego version of the store is pictured above.

Like me, Rudy was fascinated by the staff of the store, dressed as they are in uniforms and performing functions that are a throw back to the 1950s in America. In Japan, courtesy never goes out of style.

There will be much more to come from Rudy’s last escapade, so stay tuned. Thanks for sharing Rudy!
