Decembre, rabbit rabbit!

A little French by way of an illustration and a taste of the British tradition of greeting the first day of the month by saying “rabbit, rabbit” when you awake! Let’s be international this month!

I’ve already been out in the woodland to gather greenery. I love foraging!

  1. Lovely carte de poste

I wasn’t sure about the ‘Rabbit, rabbit’… my birth family used to say it, I think, only on the first of the month that held one’s birthday.
But that might just be one variation on uses.

    • I learned the “rabbit, rabbit” from my son’s elementary school. It was St. Anne’s Episcopal Day School and very British in its customs. They said it every first of the month. There’s a reply. Do you know what it is? I can tell you if not. :-+))

  2. Mmm, I think there’s something back in the fuzzy darkness of unused memory, but… no, you’ll have to tell me (though I suspect it a ‘southern’ thing. We northerners wouldnae be sa prissy).
