Last year I had the great fortune of spending a month in Paris and I loved every minute of it! I’ve been saving the topic to write about in my blog while I was overwhelmed with factors having to do with returning stateside after 8 years living abroad. I’ll be returning to Europe soon, but in the meantime, please get ready for some Parisian topics coming soon!

Nostalgia for the beauty of Italy at Christmastime!
Facebook reminds me that 5 years ago today, I was fortunate to visit the incredible basilica of San Francesco in Arezzo. I remember that cold day like it was yesterday! Oh, Italy! I love you so!

Hester: the book I could not stop reading.
I read it in one sitting and loved every second and every word.

Great reading: Peach Blossom Spring
Another great book read and enjoyed! Highly recommend.

The great luxury of reading books
Such a joy it is to have time to read. Now that winter has set upon us with its cold temperatures, and occasional snow, I’m reading around the clock. You know that ideal: a quiet room, a great cup of something hot (for me it is orange pekoe tea with thin slices of fragrant Meyer lemon), and a tome you can get lost in. Ah! Such joy.
I just finished reading this:

I enjoyed every minute of the book and wished it wouldn’t end; full of wisdom. Edna Ferber, an often overlooked American writer. Highly recommend!
Florence at Christmas
Two years ago, Florence looked like this at Christmastime. My friends in Florence tell me that this year the lights are on for a shorter time each day due to the energy crisis created by Putin’s war.

Wishing you the happiest Christmas!πππππ

Christmas Day, 2022
Let’s celebrate with an image from Florence, which is absolutely heavenly at Christmas!
