After waiting for months to get in, I went on a tour of the villa and gardens at i Tatti today. It was well worth the wait! My, what a garden.
I’ll post 2 separate posts on the Villa. Today is the garden:

Exactly 6 days to germination from seed!

On this day in 1498, Girolamo Savonarola, the Florentine Dominican friar and puritan fanatic was executed in Piazza della Signoria.
Someone, today, commemorated the death of the friar with this floral marker.

This hotel is my across the street neighbor. Rough hood.

Gallery Hotel Art, owned by the Ferragamo family. I repeat, it’s a really rough hood. The bar in the hotel is famous for its aperitivo, with hand-crafted cocktails. But what I really like about the hotel is the fact that they boast some interesting exterior art installations.
The day I moved into my new apartment, a week ago, the hotel installed the latest installation, which is a line of decorated Vespa shells, snaking up the side of the building.
A few Vespas are sometimes on display in the beautiful little piazza I share with the hotel.
But, for me, the best part is my unique view of the hotel from my windows.

It is a whole different ballgame, gardening by foot. What I mean is, I don’t have a car here, of course, because what a headache that would be. Plus, I’d be afraid to drive here even if I had a car!
So, bringing home supplies means first, locating them in the historic center of Firenze. Then it means carrying them home with my two arms. That definitely limits the amount I buy at any given time!
But, today I saw these salmon-colored geraniums and,…well,…you know the rest. Aren’t they bella!

And, btw, I’ve had these pots for months, waiting for today…!
