Villa i Tatti, Settignano

June 6, 2017 / get back, laurettadimmick / Leave a comment

After waiting for months to get in, I went on a tour of the villa and gardens at i Tatti today.  It was well worth the wait!  My, what a garden.

I’ll post 2 separate posts on the Villa.  Today is the garden:

I like this picture a lot.

And here are some words I like a lot:

This post is in celebration of all the mighty girls, everywhere, and at all times.  The girls who won’t take no for an answer. Who don’t know/won’t accept that they shouldn’t expect everything anyone else expects.

Cosimo I was a Capricorn.  And he liked to use the imagery of the sign’s symbol, the goat, in his grand architectural compositions.  In the Boboli Gardens, his goat symbols serve as the decorative animals on gateways to the island within the gardens.  Very amusing and attractive.

The Pontormo at Santa Felicita is supposed to be revealed this fall, after its current cleaning.  I stopped by yesterday to check on it, and this is what I saw!
