Living in Florence for many years gave me a lot of opportunities to visit Siena, whether by car with friends, or by bus or train. Bus was the easiest because it drops you off near the center of the historic district with no headaches of car parking or taking a taxi up from the train station to the center.
Last April when I had the incredibly good fortune to spend a month in Paris, I accidentally joined a school or church group on the platform at the Passy metro stop, waiting to go to to La place Charles-de-Gaulle, or it’s old name La place de l’Étoile. The little girl in the blue coat and red tights caught my eye! What a little lady!
What a happy accident for me!
I was also interested in the priest who was leading this group. You can see him standing behind the young lady. I must admit the first thing I noticed were his shoes! I was sitting in a chair on the platform, reading my messages, and saw his beautiful black leather shoes out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look, for you don’t see shoes like this everyday in Paris (for real, I mean it), and discovered the priest and his charges.
