Ah, Rinascente, you never disappoint come Christmas! Here is just part of their current light show!
Advent day 3. Signs of Christmas from Parma, Italy

Advent day 2, artisanal bakery in Florence
A top artiginale bakery in Florence. Guess the name? Top!

In general, I am sorry to say, I don’t care for Italian sweets or the Christmas breads of panettone or pan d’oro. But, I bought a pan d’oro this week anyway. I’m hoping I like the artiginale version better than the supermarket versions I’ve had before! I’ll let you know!
Update: Dec. 3: the pan d’oro is nice. I like it. Is it worth 20 Euro? Not for me. Sorry Italy. But, you win most all of the time: olives, salume, schiacchiata, vini, arrancia rosso, pasta, etc. etc. :-)
