This weekend, Tuscany relaxed the rules we’ve been following since the lock-down began. For the first time in 2 months, we can legally go outside and walk or bike for exercise. That means I can see the city again for the first time since March 12. Wow! I have missed my home town!
On this, my first day out, here are some beautiful things I noticed:
Hi. Everything looks new, doesn’t it? Do you know why one building had curtains in the doorway?
Nothing looks new, but my eyes are refreshed and hungry for these familiar sights. Some major churches in Italy will occasionally place red velvet drapes over the doorway.
As I get out more, there are many things I’m noticing in more detail. The sounds of the creek and the mockingbird when I walk to the market. How long that will last I’m not sure. Once people start driving more it will be much less noticeable unless I stop and focus.
