There’s no place like (my Torino) home!

I’m on the far left, on the ground floor, nicely tucked in behind a (magnolia?) tall tree with waxy leaves.  I love it!  My place is elegant and far enough off the boulevard it faces to be completely quiet.  Interesting trivia: the small courtyard behind my apartment is a favorite spot for birds to hang.  They chirp and cheep all day long.  I know now what it means to go to bed with the birds, because they hush up about 9 pm.  And are back at their chirping when the sun comes up.  I’ve been able to ignore their sound by turning up my fan.  In time, I won’t notice them.  Who knew I’d be living in an Italian aviary!

There’s no place like it!

It isn’t just a bowl of cherries.

In fact, Italy can be a real pain in the ass.  Growing pains.  In a couple weeks I’ll be fine.  For now, my landlord has me on a low-budget usage of internet.  That doesn’t sound awful until you start to realize just how dependent we all are on the internet.

Want to know why the major park in Torino is named Valentino?  Google it,…oh wait, work that into tomorrows calories (allowance of online time).

Want to know a good restaurant in my neighborhood?  Yelp it,…oh wait.

Want to Facetime loved ones back home, oh right…

Want to stream a video in the heat of the day? Oh yeah,…darn it!

Try using less than 30 mins of internet a day and let me know your secret!

But other than that, Italy is a bowl of cherries!
