I recently had the pleasure of checking off a bucket list item! It was to go on the so-called Piero della Francesca trail, starting in Monterchi, going on to Sansepolcro, and ending in Arezzo.
These photos show interesting places in the small hilltop village of Monterchi. We are still in Tuscany, but only just!

San Sepolcro is justly proud of its famous son, Piero della Francesca. I had the great fun of visiting the town a couple of weeks ago, and encountered this pretty park for the first, but not the last, time!
My plant identification app informs me that this brightly flowered shrub is crepe myrtle.
